California Health and Safety Training Program

With funding from the California Department of Education, our California Health and Safety Training Program coordinates CPR, First Aid, Preventive Health training and provides scholarships to eligible individuals who work in a child care setting.
Family Child Care Home Providers, Child Care Center staff and Directors are required to have 16 hours of training in preventative health and safety and Pediatrics CPR / First Aid. Community Resources for Children is able to provide the required and approved Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) trainings to these providers. Additional trainings offered to the community include: Disaster Preparedness, Poison Prevention and Eco Healthy Child Care.
In the past year, Community Resources for Children’s Health and Safety Project offered 48 hours of CPR and First Aid training to a total of 42 participant and 7 hours of Preventative Health and Safety training to a total of 8 participants. Participants included Family Child Care Home Providers, new prospective Providers, Child Care Center Staff and others. A total of 11 scholarships were granted to eligible participants.
