This new law may affect you!
AB1368 (Adams) requires small family child care programs to have at least one person trained in First Aid and CPR on site at all times. This was already a requirement for large family child care homes, but is now required for small family child care as well. The legislation states that a notice of deficiency shall be issued by the department at the time of a site visit to any licensee who is not in compliance. Make sure that all of your staff or family is currently trained in First Aid and CPR!
CRC offers low cost CPR and First Aid Training through the Red Cross. Each class costs $5 and dates are as follows:
April 10 8-4:30 in Spanish
May 15 8-4:30 in English
CRC also offers reimbursements if you take CPR and First Aid elsewhere. You can receive up to $100 for courses that meet health and safety requirements. Providers are required to pay a $5 co-pay per training and submit documentation and application by June 15, 2010.
