  • John Prescott
    John PrescottJohn Prescott is Vice President and Senior Relationship Officer with Charter Oak Bank and is an experienced commercial loan officer. He has been lending in the Napa Valley for over 20 years. John has been affiliated with Community Resources for Children for over 15 years as a Board Member, past Board Chair, and CRC Advisory Committee Member. He is also on the Board of Sustainable Napa County. John and his wife Joyce have been married for 42 years and have a grown daughter and two grandchildren. John is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.









  • Janet Myers
    Janet MyersJanet Myers retired to the serenity of the Napa Valley after a career in high technology sales and marketing. She was born in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin/Madison with a degree in English Literature. She has served on the board of Kara, a grief counseling agency in Palo Alto and volunteered at museums and arts organizations. She is currently serving as a volunteer docent at di Rosa Preserve in Napa. She and her husband Ray reside in St. Helena and have four children and six grandchildren.




  • Deborah Boisot
    Deborah BoisotDeborah Boisot makes her home in Napa, and is retired after 25 years of teaching English at Napa High School. Born and raised in San Francisco California, she received her BA in English Literature from Mills College, and a Secondary Teaching Credential and Masters in English Literature from SF State University. Deborah has volunteered her time and talents with many organizations, including: the Napa Valley Opera League, Napa Valley Museum, Napa Valley Wine Auction,Di Rosa Preserve, and Master Gardeners. Prior to moving to Napa she spent two years living in Paris while she worked for an international organization and spent two years in New York where she worked for Harper's Bazaar.


  • Susan Carr
    Susan CarrSusan Carr is a floral designer and local business owner of Artiste Fleuriste. She was born and raised in Ross California. She later lived in Sutter County where she raised her three children while farming and working the family's almond orchard business. Susan served as a member of the Brittan School District Board for 8 years and sat on various land use committees as an appointee of the District County Supervisor. She has a Bachelor's Degree from UC Davis and served as a member of a three-person group of UC Davis Alumni who interviewed high school seniors and college students for Alumni Scholarships. Susan has been active with the Napa Valley Arts Council, Opera House Theatre League and has been involved with Kitchens in the Vineyards and Music in the Vineyards. Susan makes her home in Napa and has three grown children, and 5 grandchildren.


  • Diane Bylund
    Diane BylundLocal Attorney Diane Bylund has served on many non-profit boards including, Napa County Bar Association, Legal Aid, Rotary, and the Solano County Bar Association. Her volunteer experience includes work with the Calistoga Art Center, Life Works, as well as the "Fighting Back" program in Vallejo, where she mentored at-risk youth. In her home town of St. Helena she has worked closely with foreign exchange students, and has appeared to observe and grade senior projects at the high school. Diane and her husband William, an architect, own and operate the Bylund House Wine Country Villa in St. Helena. They have two grown children and one grandchild.


  • Mary Smartt
    Mary SmarttMary Smartt has lived in Napa since 2003, retiring here to be close to family after a long elementary teaching career in Orinda. She has a Bachelor's in History from University of California Berkeley, and recently completed her
    Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. Mary worked in children's services at the Napa City County Library for two years and decided to combine her love of teaching reading with the new library skills for a second career. She is now
    the librarian for Blue Oak School in Napa. Mary joined the Board of Directors in 2008.


  • Caren Chirco Clark
    Caren Chirco ClarkCaren Chirco Clark is a retired social worker from the Solano County Health and Social Services Department in Child Protective Services, with the Family Preservation and Emergency Response Teams. She formerly worked for the Solano County Sheriffs Office/County Jail (Correctional Health Care/Social Worker), Napa County Health and Human Services, Community Resources for Children, A Place of My Own Preschool (teacher), Napa Valley Unified School District (Special Ed and Bilingual teacher's aid) and as a former Licensed Family Day Care Provider. Past volunteer work includes: Community Resources for Children as a Board Member (8 years), COPE (Child or Parent Emergency) as a Parent Aid, Emergency Child Care provider and Hotline volunteer. She is a graduate of Napa Valley College (Humanities/Child Development) and Pacific Oaks College and Children's School (BA Human Development). Caren's greatest joy is parenting and grand parenting. She shares, "There is nothing like the tender smile of a child. That's when you know you've accomplished your goals - Keep the baby safe; make the baby laugh and teach the baby well."


  • Harjit Khaira
    Harjit KhairaHarjit Khaira resides in Napa with her husband and young son. She is currently a stay at home parent and conducts various project-based work as an independent legal and education consultant. Harjit has an MA in Education/Social Justice from the University of Michigan and a JD from Golden Gate University, School of Law. She is also a member of Napa County Grand Jury 2009-10, Napa County Medical Society Alliance, Indus Women Leaders and Napa Mom’s Group. Prior to moving to Napa, Harjit spent 2005-06 in Melbourne, Australia developing education initiatives and teaching. Through non-profit involvement, Harjit has worked to create sustainable programs for impoverished residents in India. In 2006, in collaboration with the Center for Community Legal Education (University of San Francisco, School of Law), she helped organize an investigative mission to India, where several schools, rural villages & and refugee conditions were examined. She received a personal interview with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India. In her free time, Harjit enjoys traveling, reading and participating on her family’s farm.


  • Tanya Mahaphon, O.D.
    Tanya Mahaphon, O.D.Dr. Tanya K. Mahaphon, FCOVD, FAAO purchased a private practice in Napa from Dr. Randall Cummings in July 2006. She is now the proud business owner of Eye Spy Vision Care Optometry. Tanya was previously the Chief of the Pediatrics and Binocular Vision Service at the College of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1998 from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. She then completed a one-year residency in Vision Therapy at the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry from 1998-1999. Her residency experience includes the areas of strabismus, amblyopia, vision-related learning problems, head trauma rehabilitation, infant and pediatric optometric examinations, and vision training. Dr. Mahaphon also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from UCSD in 1994. She currently holds fellowships in the College of Optometry in Vision Development and the American Academy of Optometry. Besides her career in optometry, Dr. Mahaphon is passionate about traveling, literature, music, food, giving back to the community and cultural experiences. She enjoys spending her time with her husband and friends. She loves her patients and living in friendly Napa Valley.
