On April 19th we are celebrating all child care providers in Napa County. Providers are invited to enjoy an evening of games, refreshments and fun with friends. We had fun with puppets last week – puppet play, story time and make your own finger puppets and paper bag puppets! Did you know that talking through or with puppets motivates communication? This is especially important for young toddlers who have learned their first words but are not yet able to communicate their needs through words.
It is with great sadness that we post resources yet again for how to help children recover after a traumatic event. As always, limit exposure to media and adult conversation, use age appropriate language and assure your child that he or she is safe.
Join us for our next session of Community Connections to Early Learning Activity. It’s free, it’s fun and materials will be provided for children to make their own puppets. Please note, these activities are appropriate for children ages 0-5 and usually draw a crowd so we have secured the Napa Valley Community Foundation-Community Conference Center (next to CRC) again. We are so proud of these families who just completed the Active Minds class and had their learning celebration. Parents were empowered with new tools to engage with their children (ages 2-3) to support their growth and development. Some of these children have older siblings who went through the program – great to see the younger ones finally get their turn!
